Doctors on Riccarton has received information about the ineffective vaccines given in China from the following link:

http://www.immune.org.nz/hot-topic/faulty-vaccines-china.

Our practice will provide further vaccination of the DTaP (Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis) vaccine with the below batch numbers if your child was vaccinated with this from March to October 2017 in Hebei, Shandong and Chongqing provinces. Please bring your child’s vaccination record card as proof.

Blood testing is not required prior to re-vaccination.

There are no significant safety concerns associated with receiving an additional dose, although children may have an increased local reaction such as redness or swelling at the vaccination site.

The only batches affected are as follows:

  • DTaP batch 201605014-01 produced by Changchun Biotechnology Co. and distributed in Shandong province
  • DTaP batch 201607050-2 produced by Wuhan Institute of Biological Products and distributed to Chongqing and Hebei provinces
